The BioProduction Division ( BPD ) is one of the fastest-growing businesses in the company, supporting developers and manufacturers of biological-based therapeutics and vaccines. How will you make an impact?

The Sr. Business Development Manager is responsible for sourcing, vetting, orchestrating, and closing a range of inorganic deals to drive growth and competitiveness of BioProduction Group business. This position reports into the Director of Business Development for BioProduction Group and works in collaboration with BU and R&D leadership.

What will you do?

  • Monitor and analyze bioprocessing technology space, considering impact on strategic positioning to identify, source, and triage early and late-stage disruptive opportunities
  • Structure and facilitate-to-close significant and complex deals in line with business objectives
  • Partner with Product Management and Finance to evaluate and present robust financial modelling and analyses to value projects and acquisitions
  • Partner with and manage broad range of stakeholders, both within BioProduction Group and across other Thermo Fisher divisions to shepherd engagements from initiation to closure
  • Pipeline management of the opportunity funnel and dissemination of that information within BioProduction Group and to select partners in other divisions

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • 8+ years in leading business or strategic business planning or business development roles
  • Experience in life sciences space; bioprocessing experience preferred
  • A range of negotiation experience (licensing, JDAs, acquisitions, etc) with small, mid-size and large organizations at senior levels
  • A demonstrated track record of transaction experience including M&A or Capex approvals, partnership and co-creation or other types of collaborative partnerships
