Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine & FPO IRCCS Candiolo (TO) Immune Regulation Lab, Dr. Luigia Pace IIGM (https://www.iigm.it/unita/immunoregolazione/) is located at the FPO IRCCS Candiolo Cancer Institute, Candiolo, www.research.fpoircc.it). The mission of IIGM is to foster and develop excellence in human genomic research and education, with special reference to genomic variability in multifactorial diseases, with a strong focus on cancer. The institute provides high-level scientific education for PhD students, and access to state-of-the-art research facilities. Gender Equality Plan : diversity is our legacy and our future. Be part of it. At IIGM diversity is an integral part of our culture and identity and for this we have adopted a plan for gender equality (GEP). We promote diversity and inclusion because we recognize that they are a source of strength and competitive advantage. The Giovanni Armenise-Harvard laboratory of Immune Regulation, at the Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine (IIGM), in Candiolo (TO), Italy, is seeking for a highly motivated PhD student candidate in Immunology and epigenetics in the context of cancer. Research : The lab addresses fundamental aspects of T lymphocytes responses, related to memory T cell differentiation and long-term protective immunity . Our research aims to understand how T lymphocytes integrate complex environmental stimuli and translate these signals into specific epigenetic and differentiation programs, which specify their cell fate commitment and function. The research’s goal is to use this knowledge to develop novel strategies for the prevention and treatment of cancer, in the new and promising field of cancer vaccination and immunotherapy. We are a dynamic and young multidisciplinary team, we combine a variety of approaches, including genetic and genomic techniques, including high throughput cell-based assays, next generation sequencing of RNA and epigenetics marks, and translational models. We are a dynamic and multidisciplinary group with extensive national and international collaborations. Qualifications and requirements : basic knowledge in immunology, molecular biology, epigenetics is considered an advantage good communication skills and self-motivation; fluent in spoken and written English Position: no. 01 Offered contract: 3-year contract renewable for one more year Mandatory documents to be included to apply for this position: a cover letter (in English), addressed to Immune Regulation Lab. , Dr. Luigia Pace, describing research experience, interests, motivation; CV (in English) and contact information of two references Incomplete applications will not be processed References: Brasu N., Nature Immunology 2022, D’Alise M., science Translat.
