Job Description

Our Graduate Civil Engineers work in world class teams to design and deliver sustainable solutions.


As a Graduate Civil Engineer you will have the opportunity to work within our Energy Sector. Within the Civil and Structural team, successful candidates will work with our engineers on a range of tasks including CAD drawing and Revit model updates, completing design calculations for foundations/structures for High Voltage electrical plant and building items.

You will have the opportunity to work across a range of different projects from conceptual to detailed design. There may also be opportunity to accompany our senior engineers on site visits, assisting them with taking measurements, photos and identifying constraints on site. As well as benefiting from learning throughout the placement, we expect our candidates to be of high value to our vastly experienced team of engineers and we have a demand for hard working individuals who are willing to learn on highly dynamic projects.


Our work spans a variety of sectors including:

Working within a team on identification,

Production, and evaluation of design options,

Analysing proposals to refine and verify their feasibility,

Apply computer modelling techniques/tools in analysis design, assist in project / work scheduling and management,

Attend meetings with stakeholders,

Providing professional assistance to executives and colleagues in the team,

Preparation of technical documentation (General, Conceptual, Main and Construction designs) from data collection, data processing, development of project solutions and their justification,

Other activities by order of the responsible person and/or the Line Manager in whose team it employed in,

Training to perform other tasks from the company activities by order of executives and/or Line Manager.

About the Energy Business unit:

The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, thermal, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.

Join us as Graduate Civil Engineer and you will have the option to work within the following areas:

Energy Networks (providing technical, business and management consulting services in relation to all electrical transmission and distribution and gas & liquid technologies). That includes:

HV Substation

  • HV Substation
  • HVDC Convertor station
  • Power Station


Energy Generation: having the opportunity to work on the detail design works and OE services for power plants including renewables. You will work in a team preparing proposals, executing projects, and support management for developing new clients and markets. Delivering projects in accordance with agreed schedules at various stages including feasibility, and the planning and preparation of tender stage technical drawings, specifications and production of construction drawings and design compliance monitoring at construction stage for power plant applications.

To apply for this scheme, you will have less than 12 months relevant work experience and havea degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:
  • Civil Engineering

In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience and state your preferred area of either energy networks or energy generation.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:

Methodical approach to problem solving

Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.

Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.

Excellent written communication and attention to detail, and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.

Fluent in Italian and English.
