Customs Compliance Director Remote, Italy

Let’s Talk about the Role As the Customs Compliance Director you will be responsible for creating and managing the FieldCore’s Global Customs Compliance framework and program. You will provide direct oversight of customs operations and indirect oversight of functional support on customs related matters. Responsible for driving the Customs and ASP Enterprise Standards across Field Core you will collaborate cross functionally with internal teams and develop compliance partnerships with Field Core’s Customs ASPs, Customs Agents, and other 3 rd party Customs Compliance suppliers. How You Will Make a Difference Create and manage the FieldCore customs compliance program to meet requirements defined by the GE Corporate Governance Team and aligned to the GE Enterprise Standard (ES) Design and roll out standards, lead projects by utilizing lean processes, develop solutions, ensure SOPs are in place and other initiatives to support FieldCore’s International Trade Compliance activities. Establish global customs policy Develop and operationalize business specific policies and procedures Create and implement a customs risk and monitoring plan Define, monitor and report KPI’s to Corporate Governance Build and monitor escalation matrix for customs compliance issues Implement a MSA / SOW for Customs Agent and BPO management Interface with and collaborate with Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) audits, results, and corrective actions Skills for Success You will be an accredited or certified Customs professional with a proven track record of managing and developing multi-discipline teams with an international reach across multiple service types: Furthermore, you will also demonstrate: Ability to independently develop and execute functional strategies to solve complex operational situations Ability to effectively interface with executive leadership / GMs Highly effective in a matrix environment; influence and motivate geographically dispersed and diverse teams to realize strategic visions Strong change management, oral and written communication skills Aformal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in logistics or supply chain management are nice to have, but we are mostinterested in your total experience and professional achievements.
