Planning & Material Management Trainee

Marelli's Aftermarket Division is looking for a Planning & Material Management Trainee to join the EMEA Parts Supply Chain Management department in Corbetta (Milan).

  • The trainee will be set in a dynamic and international environment supporting the Company tutor and the entire team, of the following activities:
  • Analysis of procurement proposals considering budget objectives, sales history, current customer order portfolio and commercial needs with the scope to balance Sales needs and financial targets.
  • Planning and management of stock levels with a view to balancing efficiency criteria (target stock value for the month) and commercial needs (target sales value for the month);
  • Analysis of deviations / variations from the budget / forecast and definition of any corrective actions;
  • Projections of the future stock trend and definition of any corrective action needed in agreement with the Sales department;
  • Preparation of the weekly procurement plan ensuring its feasibility and compliance with contractual agreements by suppliers.

The trainee will also take care, under the supervision of the Company tutor, of several activities:

  • Update of planning parameters (MOQ, Lead Time, Minimum order value, etc;
  • Stock & cost optimization, obsolescence reduction, inventory optimization, forecast accuracy,
  • Support to the Region Planning & Material Management Manager regarding the definition of material delivery priorities according to customer demand;
  • Management of any supply unconformities;
  • Creation of analyzes and reports to monitor the stock trends and the availability of materials sharing the information with the Sales department, in order to improve customer order fill rate
  • Degree in Management and Production Engineering or Economics. A Specializing Master in related fields will be considered as a plus;
  • Languages: Italian and English;
  • Soft Skills: goal orientation; communication and listening skills; organization skills; stress management; analytical skills; attention to detail; problem solving; priority management, curiosity.
  • Technical skills: notions / passion about logistics; excellent knowledge of the Office package, in particular Excel and Access.
