For ABB E-Mobility Technology Center located in San Giovanni Valdarno, we are looking for a Firmware Developer with skills in Power Electronics for our R&D; organization. The profile will design/develop the control software of our power converts connected to the medium/low voltage grid for electrical vehicle charging applications. The profile will face the most interesting technical challenges in the field, building converters in the range of 10KW-1000KW using modern converter topologies. Your workflow will be part of the ABB gate model development process where you'll work in an Agile way with the entire product development team. This position reports toR&D; Team Lead Your responsibilitiesParticipate in the definition of next generation electric vehicle chargers. Design and development of embedded control software in DSPs and MCUs for power converters. Support the HW team and the testing engineers during the power modules development. Perform HIL simulation to debug and to validate FW routines, control algorithms and control logic boards. Your backgroundA master's degree in Electrical, Energy or Electronic Engineering with a solid background in firmware development to fit into our RnD global organization. At least 3-5 years of experience in a medium-high range company focus on products design and production as FW engineer preferably for power electronics applications. Expert user of common tools and practices used in software development (git, compilers and debugging tools). Strong experience on embedded software using C/C++ to control and manage high performance, real-time applications. Ability to use standard laboratory equipment and a strong knowledge on the most common industrial communication protocol (CAN, UART, SPI, preferably also I2C, Ethernet). A clear verbal communicator in English and, preferably, in Italian. Problem solving skills. Comfortable in a Start-up mindset inserted in a global strong company. Team working skills in an international context. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, agile team, with proven experience in product design and development.
