We are looking for a senior professional who is looking forward to being our colleague in the role of Global Transport & Logistic Manager.In this role, you will develop and implement specific Transport and Logistics (T&L;) strategies in line with the Company, Supply Chain Management (SCM) Council and Transport & Logistics Council strategy and drive the implementation of best practices to ensure Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and service optimization. Your responsibilities1. Strategy and planning: leads the development of new logistics strategies, drives the improvement of logistics concepts, analyzes current logistics structures and develops quality/cost improvement plans for the Division. Implements and maintains Global and Business Unit logistics strategy and policy at Region level.2. Cost and quality: identifies and drive cost savings in T&L; through rate negotiation, process or network changes and leads sourcing and implementation process for warehouse operations. Benchmarks logistics cost and quality and ensures high quality levels in T&L; (e.g. On Time Delivery, damage and loss rates). 3. Governance: drives implementation of global guidelines within the Division. Develops best in classlogistics processes (e.g. Key Performance Indicators, Standard Operating Procedures) and implements best practices, such as improving tools and processes to ensure cost efficient and process compliant T&L; purchasing within the Division.4. Local Support: lead local re-engineering of logistics structures and processes at individual ABB locations, lead tender and she/he is the first point of escalation (advising and trouble shooting) during project execution.5. Budget and performance targets: prepares and participates in setting and implementing budget and targets within the framework. Ensures the Transport & Logistics sourcing performance targets are achieved.6. People leadership and development: ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies, for the benefit of both ABB and the employee. Manages the succession planning for lead SCM positions in the Division/Business Unit/Product Group. Coordinates talent management processes regionally with Divisions/Business Units/Product Groups.Your backgroundPrevious experience in logistics and transportation in medium-large companies;Good experience in correct packaging;Strong knowledge of packaging standards, return flows, costs;At least 5 years of experience in the role as a logistic manager (or similar roles) or at least 7/8 years in the logistics field in general;Engineering background or consolidated experience in the role;Fluent English and Italian;Availability to stay at our headquarters in San Giovanni Valdarno at least a few days a week;Knowledge of TMS tools, 3 PL or 4 PL;Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff;Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills;Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.More about usWe look forward to receiving your application (documents submitted in English are appreciated).
