Material Planner

Responsible for developing production/supply plans that take into account forecasts, availability of material and manufacturing capacity. Is responsible for identifying and maintaining the appropriate planning parameters in ERP systems to optimize subassembly production and raw material supply plans. May also be responsible for providing materials to manufacturing areas based on planned production schedules and for the appropriate shipping of finished goods to various distribution centers utilizing material handling equipment in support of management policies for customer delivery and inventory levels. Includes planners and inventory control roles.

Job Requirements : Run raw material planning reports, using Oracle ERP, every day to ensure BPA releases will be placed in time.

Place BPA Releases/ Standard POs and send them to suppliers

Stay in contact with suppliers to ensure they will satisfy delivery date needs to avoid Raw Materials stock Out

Work closely with quality, production, and Warehouse departments to ensure best performance for Return to Supplier, Inventory Receipt in time, Order placing flexibility due to Customer Demand Changes

Work closely with rest of Supply Chain department to Build a good Team

Ensure excellent OTD (On-Time-Delivery) Level of customer orders avoiding stock outs to be competitive in the market and satisfy customer’s expectations.

Develop, execute and follow-up the action plan, KPI and Problem-Solving Process (PSP)

Education Requirements :Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or supply chain management

Work Experience Requirements :Previous experience of materials planning ideally in a manufacturing environment

Competences/Skill Requirements :

  • Good understanding of supply chain processes and their interdependencies
  • Understanding of supplier relationships and some experience of working with suppliers
  • ERP systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge and experience of using Min Max and Kanban planning systems or similar
  • Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous
