WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our Institute for Institute for Climate Resilience (ICR) is looking for a new position of Education Project Officer, located in Milan, responsible for the management, plan and monitoring of the main educative and training activities.
Workplace location: Milan , Italy

ROLE

The Education Project Officer is responsible for supporting the Education Project Manager and she/he will be responsible for the daily implementation and management of ongoing scientific research-based projects and educational/training programmes funded by different donors. In particular, she/he will ensure the smooth coordination and implementation of the Future Earth Research School (FERS School , ) a School in the field of environmental sustainability and climate change launched by the Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change Foundation (CMCC), with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region . She/He will also be responsible of the communication and dissemination activities of the School.

RESPOSABILITIES

The Education Project Officer is responsible of:
  • Smooth implementation of the 2024 FERS courses;
  • Monitoring and reporting of the 2024 FERS courses following funding agency requirements and criteria;
  • Dissemination and social media management of the FERS School and other project-related activities;
  • Events management, coordinating the schedule and logistics of educational courses/activities, workshops, seminars, and events;
  • Stakeholders’ engagement activities in order to foster the enhancement of the academic success and outreach of internal and external stakeholders, including educators, students, parents, community organizations, and funding agencies;
  • Public/media contents development, tailored according to the different platforms and channels (website and social media pages) following visual requirements;
  • Provision of operational support to onsite training courses (taking place at CEUB , in Bertinoro – Italy);
  • Financial and administrative tasks encompassing the recruitment of the courses staff, pre-processing of payments and invoicing, budget management, etc.;
  • Identifying funding opportunities through grants, sponsorships, and donations to support program sustainability and growth;
  • Other tasks in line with the position and specific profile of the candidate, mainly supporting the management of other projects portfolio of the ISCD division.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Education, Economics, Management, International Relations, Environmental sustainability sciences, and other related field;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management in the context of educational/training programme and projects;
  • Experience in designing and delivering education, training and capacity development activities;
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders with a multicultural background;
  • A very good knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint (a basic understanding of Photoshop and InDesign is considered to be an asset);
  • Strong understanding of and experience with Wordpress, Mailchimp and graphic design tools (Canva, and/or Adobe Creative Cloud applications);
  • Master of social media platforms (X, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn);
  • Experience developing communities of practice and managing online communities;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Experience in financial and administrative management and periodical reporting.

  • Good analytical and rganizational skills and ability to meet strictdeadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team environment;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and unforeseen challenges;
  • Previous experience working with higher education institutions, academic organizations, NGOs, etc.;
  • Passion for environmental education, climate change and high scientific research.

DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Based on the duration of the employment contract, without prejudice to any changes in organisation and/or career paths and downstream of the performance appraisal.
  • The appointment is assigned following:
  1. internal selection;
  2. external selection in the event that there are no internal candidates, or they are assessed as unsuitable.

IF CO.CO.CO.

  • The appointment period will be initially of 12 months starting from May 2024, with the possibility of contract extension based on performance, results achieved and new project opportunities.
  • The gross salary will be based on qualification and working experience and competitive with major research centres in Europe

Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.
