Chiesi Research & Development Our R&D team represents a fundamental asset for the business. It is divided into integrated functional areas focusing on pipeline projects including discovery and preclinical research, chemical manufacturing and controls, drug delivery technology, clinical development, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, intellectual property, quality assurance, R&D project and portfolio management. Headquartered in the new purpose-built and fully integrated Research and Development Centre in Parma (Italy), the team also has important operations in Paris (France), Chippenham (UK), Cary (US), Stockholm (Sweden) and Toronto (Canada). Who we are looking for Purpose To develop targeted therapies for chronic diseases such severe asthma, COPD, IPF, chronic cough and PAH it is necessary to develop appropriate pharmacodynamic and disease models that mimic as much as possible the progression of the disease and that enable a therapeutic intervention with the therapeutics under investigation. Main Responsibilities Support Target Validation experimental activities in chronic models of respiratory diseases already set-up in Chiesi (in vivo models of ILDs, transgenic models, extra-pulmonary fibrosis models) Develop relevant chronic in vivo models for ILDs and COPD and bronchiectasis Test in the disease models the new targets/therapies identified in studies performed by utilizing cells, tissues and other biological samples obtained from patients and in vivo models Other responsabilities: Study Monitoring for outsourced activities; Responsible for managing external academic collaborators and CROs to deliver high-quality results; Interaction with KOLs and research network; Serve on internal project teams and provide pharmacology expertise; Provide updates to the different research committees and senior management; Interaction with Business Development and Corporate Marketing Experience Required Education PhD in pharmacology or in other correlated fields Languages Fluent english Technical Skills Ability to design, execute experiments and drive results; Knowledge and experience in pre-clinical drug development; Knowledge in pulmonary pharmacology; Soft Skills Adaptability and flexibility Communication skills Team working Quality orientation Planning and organizational skills What we offer You would join a dynamic, fast-growing, challenging and friendly environment.
