Senior Project Engineer - Civil Engineering

Description

Design authority for an engineering discipline with medium - high complexit y . Complete as signments on projects, cost-ef f ectively and in accordance with cont r act specifications, quality standards and sa f ety requirements.

Responsibilities:

• E valuate, select and apply standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering as signments;

• Provide technical support for testing, installation and commissioning design, site survey, purchasing and site activities;

• Manage the project documentation within one ' s scope of delive r ables; Assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/prog r ams (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, deliverables list, specification for vendor purchasing, etc.);

• Support Cont r act Managers in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.);

• Provide quality solutions as per customer requirements and delivers within budget and cont r act;

• Ensure adher ence to sa f ety standards and mitigation of potential risks;

• Create work plans and cost estimates in own area of responsibility and ensure quality delive r ables on time and within tar geted cost; Improve ef f ectiveness of work plan in collabo r ation with other functions;

• Complete risk and opportunity assessments and ensure implementation of resulting actions in one ' s area of responsibility;

• Report any cont r act / quality / prog r am / cost issues to man agement along with recommendations for resolution;

• Assist customers on technical issues, inte r act with official contacts, cont r actors and other staff within his/her scope of deliverables; Assist communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings;

• Collabo r ate with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed on with potential suppliers; Provide technical evalua tion of supplier proposals and accepts as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services.

• Support Tender Team and Managers in checking customer requests, issuing deliverables list, validating project planning, consolidating material requests and BoM, confirming cost impacts, time impacts, risk quantifications, etc (as per scope of work).

• Use standard processes and tools applicable to one ' s area of responsibility; Ensure that en gineering activities comply with required sa f ety regulations and cont r actual requirements;

• Report processes and tools inefficiencies and suggests improvements ideas; Assign tasks to and coordinates work with entry level engineers, technicians, administ r ative staff;

• Ability to have 360 degrees understanding of project, with aptitude to be proactive on technical dis cussion and suggestion, improvement proposal, problems mitigations; Lead the relevant team on technical aspect of activities;

Y our background:

• Bachelor/master ' s degree in civil (structural) Engineering;

• Fluent in English (excellent command) & Italian; Able to work with dif f erent and multiple stakeholders, proven expertise in coordina tion of projects and people; Proven experience of 5 years in high voltage substations or power plants project engineering in EPC busi ness;

• Strong computer lite r acy (MS Office, Autodesk and BIM software); Organizational skills; Sense of responsibility & reliability;

• Able to communicate clearly and clear-thinker;

• Able to set priorities and communi cate ef f ectively with all the various stakeholders during all the step of the projects;

• Planning and deliverables management as main working tools; Strong problem-solving aptitude with good decision-making skills.
