Hitachi Rail (team RAMS/Platforms Safety) is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated PRODUCT RAMS ENGINEER who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. Deliver complex (in terms of number of boards and potential market) Signalling products, which meet reliability and safety requirements, in compliance with project schedule and budget. Build the required RAMS evidence and ensure successful independent safety assessment. The position is based in Naples , Italy.

Accountabilities

By reporting to the RAMS platform manager (Generic products), you participate in the safety / certification studies of our products.

For this, you:

  • Identify and conduct RAMS activities regarding standard architectures and platforms for solutions, hardware architectures, software architectures;
  • Guarantee that the delivery of Signalling products is achieved in compliance with RAMS and quality standards, and in accordance with schedule and budget;
  • Guarantee definition of RAMS Plans;
  • Ensure correct estimation of RAMS and V&V activities;
  • Ensure correct identification and apportionment of product RAMS requirements;
  • Guarantee the analysis of the system requirements in order to confirm product compliance with safety requirements analyzed and followed;
  • Define and apply RAMS analysis to demonstrate the conformity of generic (Electronic) Products to CENELEC standards (EN 50129);
  • Conduct safety analysis of verification activities, validation at the equipment level, validation at the component level and / or at the platform level;
  • Conduct safety analysis of the code according to CENELEC methods and techniques EN50128: 2001 and EN50128: 2011;
  • Participate with development teams in preliminary analyzes of new products or modifications of existing products;
  • l Ensure monitoring of product V&V activities against the applicable standards;
  • Ensure that all Safety Related Non-conformities identified during V&V activities are recorded;
  • l Ensure management of Independent Safety Assessor, Client and other external Authorities, support the Certification Manager and ISAs during independent safety assessments;
  • Contribute to the definition of metrics for the estimation of milestones relating to RAMS activities;
  • Coordinate and support the analysis of the problems encountered during the integration / validation and implementation phases.

Required Skills/Knowledge

With an engineering degree (Electronics), you have at least 3 years of RAMS experience on SIL4 products in the railway sector or equivalent (aeronautics, automotive, energy). Knowledge of the CENELEC EN50126, EN50129 standards is a real plus.

You are able to work both independently and as part of a team. You are able to interact with different teams. You are solution-oriented and results-oriented, you are methodical and scrupulous. Your good level of English, both written and spoken, allows you to communicate easily in a multicultural environment.

Education/Qualifications
Engineering Degree (preferable Electronics) or equivalent technical background.

Languages
ITA and Fluent Knowledge of English (written & spoken).
