Factory Technical Representative - Emea

WHAT YOU’LL DO As our Factory Technical Representative for our EMEA region, you’ll receive direct outreach from both our OEM and dealer network providing unmatched installation and service support to those customers. You’ll provide service to our partners throughout the EMEA region for front-line support for installation, commissioning, training, troubleshooting, and technical needs. You’ll interact, support, and service our OEM partners and Seakeeper Dealers, increasing the level of support we provide them with. You’ll help us continue to build a best-in-class aftermarket network and continue to support our OEM partners through the following: - Holistically planning and completing service interventions by preparing materials list of parts and tools needed for the job, coordinating shipping logistics materials, and booking your travel logistics - Completing Seakeeper commissioning reports - If provided with, responsible for and maintaining the company vehicle including scheduling preventative maintenance, submitting a monthly mileage log, and keeping the vehicle in a clean and presentable condition - Maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality of work, and personal presentation and be a superb representation of the Seakeeper brand - Providing elevated troubleshooting and dedicated technical support to Seakeeper Dealers and OEM partners, working closely with the Customer Support team, and elevating major component field issues to the Service Engineering team for diagnosis and documentation - Occasionally addressing end-user field issues and visiting vessels in the field that require factory-level support for diagnosis, troubleshooting, documentation, or data collection - Coordinating dealer and OEM participation in dedicated service coverage at major events - Staying current and knowledgeable on new and existing product changes and attending internal on-site training in our Tampa and Lavagna, Italy offices - Supporting the Customer Support, OEM, and Aftermarket teams by fielding incoming support inquiries via telephone or electronic communication and following up accordingly - Providing feedback to the Field Engineering team on reoccurring quality issues or processes that can drive continuous improvement in reliability, serviceability, or ease of installation of Seakeeper products - Documenting key activities including warranty cases (as parts or labor are consumed to repair Seakeepers within warranty), commissioning cases, installation audits, and sea trials - May assist with technical training needs on occasion such as presenting technical training to OEM partners and Seakeeper Dealers WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Do you have a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to hustle in a fast-paced environment? MUST-HAVES - Degree from a college, technical institute, or equivalent work experience - 2-3 years of related experience in the marine industry working on a technical product including engines, hydraulics, plant machinery, gyroscopes, or fin systems - A constant positive, professional, and customer-centric attitude - Proficiency with training and presentation tools, such as Microsoft PowerPoint - Fluent in English, written and verbal - Self-motivated, professional, responsive, resourceful, and flexible - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Superior time management, multitasking, organizational and prioritization skills - Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license - Ability to obtain a passport, lift 70+ pounds, drive extended distances (periodically up to 8-12 hours, commonly 2-4 hours), and work on extended business trips including some nights and weekends - Ability to work in confined areas (such as engine rooms, equipment spaces, and bilges on board various types of marine vessels) including climbing up/down ladders, stooping, bending, lying down, and working in challenging conditions NICE-TO-HAVES - Experience working with OEMs or dealers in a factory support role - Experience working with Seakeepers or other gyrostabilizers - NMEA and ABYC certifications - Previous experience with creating documentation, technical writing, promoting process improvement, managing processes and problem-solving - Customer and product support experience - This is a remote role, based in Europe, unless you reside near our Lavagana, Italy office you may go into the office regularly MORE DETAILS YOU’LL WANT TO KNOW - Your territory will include Avigliana, La Spezia, Lavagna, Genoa, Savona, Viareggio, and surrounding cities/towns.
